They examine overall hearing, and prescribe and fit hearing instruments when appropriate. Audiologists are also trained to provide counseling to individuals who are learning to cope with the practical and emotional repercussions of hearing loss.
An Audiologist is a specialist in the field of hearing health. Audiologists have a minimum of a Masters Degree in Audiology and spend an average of seven years at university learning their profession in the greatest detail. More recently others have completed a Doctorate in Audiology.
